Kiwisport Reflection

IALT:to reflect on kiwisport

Hey guys so today we had our first kiwisport lesson on flag football so the first thing we did was got introduced to Coach Will and Coach Karl and they told us to gather around a circle and we had chop that means running on the spot and then jump up and down and said hoo.

Coach Will then told us to line up in 4 cone in groups of 4 and then 2 of us went to other side and the other 2 stayed on the cone I was with Aumau on the other side of Tevita and Kensington that was my group me and Aumau had a cone too.

Then Coach Will and Coach Karl demonstrated how to hold and throw a football and that is what we practicing throwing the ball to each other and holding the ball the right way we were having until it started to rain and we had to go inside of the hall and continue from there.     

So we kept on throwing and catching the ball to each other and then Coach Will blew his whistle and we chop like before then stop then Coach Will and Coach Karl showed us how to catch the football and tuck when we catch the ball and hold it near our bodies.

We started to practice throwing, catching and tucking the football as well as holding the football then it stopped raining and we went back outside for a game of flag football without the tags just tagging just trying to catch the ball when a person on the other team throws it.

Then it started rain and we went back into the hall again but we still had 10 more minutes so we played 3 on 3 and 4 on 4 sub off and on because 7 of us in each team so first 3 people was Toma, Kensington and Arizona then the 4 people were Me, Leilani, Aja and Akih and it was fun to play and I really enjoyed it.

Coach Will then told us to knee down on a circle and told us about working as a team and getting better at football after we said thank you Coach Will and Coach Karl and then lined up and walked back to class.

I felt great after because I really enjoyed playing flag football and learning some skills on football and me getting a little bit better at football

What I found challenging was catching and throwing the ball because it was hard trying that when it is wet from the rain outside and me throwing the ball with a little less power.

My next steps is to learn how to throw the ball the right way and also catching the ball so I can get better on flag football.

Te Tuhi Reflection

IALT:reflect on the trip to te tuhi

Hey guys so today we went to te tuhi to work on some abstract art using some of the different types of the technology devices not the real thing just a cardboard cut out of the different types of  technology devices.

We had to choose 1 or 2 of the technology device and then trace it on our paper I chose a TV, Controlla and PSP then we had to outline it with a black marker and then draw line across and side on the technology devices that we traced. 

We then had to choose 3 or 4 color to put on our abstract art I chose red, white, yellow and blue and those colors was for me to paint my abstract art and then we started painting our artwork and after that we are done our artwork.

Then Salome took us on a tour of the art gallery te tuhi and it was amazing seeing the different types of art from artist from around world.

 One of the artwork that we saw was a piece art of Tongan codes of arms but his own version with logos from the Tongan culture years ago and the person that made it was Benjamin Work.

I felt great after that because it was amazing doing some actual abstract art and going on a tour around the art gallery.

Australia Defeated Tonga On Saturday

IALT:Tell about the game of Tonga and Australia

Hey guys so Saturday the rugby league test of Tonga vs Australia happen.

 I was too exitced to go watch the game at my uncle's house because I did not have a ticket.

We watched it but the sad thing was that Australia beated Tonga with the final score of Australia with 34 points and Tonga with 16 points.

I was sad because I am Tongan but it is what it is and Tonga did a great job and did their best.

Abstract Art Lesson 3 Reflection (Final Lesson)

Hey guys so tomorrow me and my class are going to Te Tuhi last week we did lessons on abstract art the thing we are learning and doing at Te Tuhi tomorrow.

 On Friday we had our last lesson on abstract art at school before Te Tuhi.

Our last lesson was on what type of technology do people use when they make abstract art and two thing that I thought of was pencil and paintbrush.

What I learnt from this is everything that is technology is not all electronic wise like a table, chair, pencil and paintbrush.

Abstract Art Lesson 2 Reflection

Hey guys so we had our second lesson on abstract art for our trip tomorrow to Te Tuhi and our second lesson was on how to make something abstract using shapes and texture. 

So we saw different types of technology that we use like a laptop, PSP and smartphone and the abstract outline of it.

What I learnt from this is the outline of abstract of the different types of technology that we use everyday and that we can make something abstract of any type of technology using color and texture.

Abstract Art Lesson 1 Reflection

Hey guys so yesterday we did our first lesson about abstract art for Te Tuhi next week Tuesday abstract is the basic elements of color, shape, and texture we saw the painting of a tree that looked like a actual tree that someone took a photo of.

What I have learnt from this is that when you do abstract art you can make something that looks so real into abstract art and it makes it look like the real thing.

Maths Reflection

What The Heck

WALT:reflect on maths 

Hey guys so we did maths and this term for maths we are learning about decimals and the place value of the decimals.

 We got into buddies and we had to do a task to write the number of whole number and fraction with decimal point I was Kaleb and task was to order each decimal point from the greatest to the least.

I found it hard to do so I went to Mrs Komor for help while Kaleb went to kapa haka and she showed me how to write the number in decimals and where the decimals point goes.

 That really helped and I learnt a lot from this and one of the things that I learnt is that the decimal point is always after the whole number because it is the main number of the number.

I felt good after that because I did not give up so I asked for help and now I know it and also I learnt a lot from and I know that I am starting to improve on my maths.

What Is Technology (Inquiry Reflection)

Hey guys so this morning we started school with inquiry so we had sit in a group and talk about technology that we use at home.

Mrs Komor then ask us what type of technology that we use at home I had said the water hose because you use the tap from outside to turn it on and use to water your garden or fill up our pool. 

We then had to find a definition of technology so we had to talk to our groups again to find a definition and one of my group mates Demetrius said something that uses electricity.

We watch a video on what is technology and the definition that was there that we can understand and it's more easier. 

So the definition of technology that we got from the video is things that created by humans that makes life more easier.

 Also it is not only about electronic things it is also about things that made without electronic like a chair to sit on or a table to put your food on to eat.

Mrs Komor then asked if we wanted to change our definition and change it to something that is used for a purpose then we cleared the circle and sat in a big circle and learn the different types of technology.

So the first one is constructional technology so the stuff that is used to build staff like hammer, screwdriver, chainsaw, bulldozer and many more.

The second thing is medical technology that is type of stuff that the doctors use to check up on you like a stethoscope, reflex hammer, pulse oximeter, tongue depressors and many more.

The third one is transportation technology that things that is used to get you from one place to another like a bus, train, car, plane, ferry, taxi (uber) and many more.

I felt great after that because I learnt a lot from that lesson and one thing that I learnt from this is technology is not all about electronic things.

My First Blog Reflection For Term 4 (Holiday Reflection) (What I Need To Improve On) (What I Am Looking Forward To Term 4)

   WALT:to reflect on our holidays

Hey guys so in the holidays was probably the greatest time of my life because me and my cousin got the chance to go to Hawaii for my other cousin's baptism and my birthday.

The best part of Hawaii for me going the beach and water park for a swim also eating the food and drinking the juice which was so nice also just going on a tour of Honolulu, Hawaii and going to P.C.C which stands for Polynesian Cultural Center.

The least part of Hawaii for me was the hot weather it was so hot we had to put AC on the car everyday we did not turn it off.

 Also with cars in Hawaii is that the steering wheel is on left side of the car so it the opposite of the cars here in New Zealand.

Oh and one thing that I left out of the best part of Hawaii is that it was my birthday there and I really enjoyed having my birthday on a different island I had a great time on my birthday and being in Hawaii.

What I am looking forward to for term 4 is Kiwisport, Motat Trip, Dine and Dance, Year 8 Prize Giving and Improving on my maths.

 I need to work on my fractions and decimals before I go to college and also just to try and have a great time this term before I leave this school.
