IALT:reflect on the ako evening

Hey guys so yesterday we had our ako evening and for our class we did our production.

 So we were in our island groups and did a final practice for our skit and cultural performance.

I was in the fijian group filling in for Amon and also I was in the Tongan group and Cook Island group.

Those were not the only islands there was also Samoa, Niue & New Zealand.

 So how our production started is people will line up and they sail down to our class and look at all the different islands skit and performance.

Our skit and performance was all about natural disasters because that is what we were learning about this term.

What I have learn from the ako evening yesterday is all about the natural disasters facts that I did not know about.

I felt great doing the skit and performance in front of all the parents and visitors also having a great time.

This Week Is The Last Week Of School

Ako Evening Tomorrow

Hey guys so tomorrow it is time again to have another ako evening and this is the best one we have done so far this year.

 We are doing skits on natural disasters around the pacific islands.

 I am in 2 groups the Tongan group and The Cook Islands group (As A Extra) and the other groups are Fiji, Samoa, Niue and New Zealand.

 We are also each doing a culture performance before our skit and at the end we all come together and do Tamaki E.

Hey guys so some of you's probably have notice that I have blog since last Thursday.

The reason why is at school we have practicing out island skit.

 Also setting for the ako afternoon which is happening tomorrow.

 I have also been practicing with my 2 groups Tonga & Cook Islands (As A Extra).

So I had no time to blog because I practicing my line at school and home also setting up the classroom for tomorrow.

IALT:reflect on the assembly

Hey guys so today we had a Duffy assembly with a special guest that comes from South Auckland and is Samoan.

 Also he is a illustrator for comic book and school journals.

He also did some for WWE and he is also wrestler and his name is Michel Mulipola.

He talked about how got into comic book and drawing he also told us about his favourite

superheroes.

 which is green lantern he showed us the comic books and school journals that he illustrated.

What I learnt from him is that he met a lot of WWE superstars

Now I am kind of interested in becoming a professional wrestler.

Also that he grew up an he was interested in comic books and drawing straight away.

I also thought it was amazing that he got to illustrate WWE comic books.

I felt great after that because I learnt a lot and also had singing the duffy song.

Sorry For Not Blogging In The Weekend

Hey guys so sorry I have not blogged since Friday and the reason why.

I went with my mom and grandparents to Otahuhu on Saturday and we were there for the whole day.

 I was at church on Sunday and I came back and I rested a bit then went I somewhere and came back late at night.

My Poem (Earthquakes)

EARTHQUAKES

Tectonic plates moving

People screaming

Car alarms beeping

Houses sweeping away like a broom

Cracks in my room

This day is cruel

Not knowing what to do

I need some food

I feel so blu

my room look likes it has the flu

I now have ripped shoes

The wind sounds like a cow’s moo

There’s nowhere to go to

The shaking feels like somebody doing kung fu

The only shirt & pants that I have on is navy blue

My family is going coo coo

Still not knowing to do

It’s over with it’s done threw

Now my house is swept away

And now everywhere look like it has the flu

I want you to understand that everything you have that you appreciate it because you never know that a earthquake or any natural disaster could take it all away from you.

Tech Reflection

IALT:reflect on tech

Hey guys so today we had tech so the first thing we did was get the things that we needed for tech then we lined up and walked to down to the bus and went to Tamaki College.

We all went to our class rooms and my group walked to Mr. Grundy class and then we put the chairs down and sat down and Mr. Grundy told us that we were going to finish off our workbook from last week.

So I had to find two more people for the pendant I am going make them but so far I still have me and my mum and I found images for me and some for my mum so I design the images and make into a pendant.

Mr. Grundy showed how to draw our design on the wood without doing it wrong then he showed us a machine that cut's the design of the wood so when we are drawing it on the wood we use the machine.

We then just ended up finishing off our workbook but some people already started to make there pendant and we did this until it was time to go back to school then when it was time we packed up and then the bell rang and we walked to the bus and went back to school.

I felt great after that because I learnt how to use a machine that I just learnt about today and I can not to finish my workbook and start making my pendant.

Tongan Language Week Special Assembly Today

Hey guys so today after morning tea we will be having a special assembly to celebrate Tongan language week and after that lunch will be provided by the Tongan community.

Tech Reflection

IALT:reflect on tech

Hey guys so yesterday we had tech and we switch groups and it was our last switch for this year so the last group that we switch to this year is hard materials.

So when we first got there we sat at each table I sat with Aumau, Lofa and Mr. Tafea and then Mr. Grundy introduce himself to the year 7's and Mr. Tafea because me and the rest of year 8's knew him from last year.

Last year when I Mr. Grundy's class we did woodwork and I made a car but this year was going to be different we are going to be making a pendant that is a piece of metal that hangs from a chain worn to put around your neck.

So we first had to go threw the rules in Mr. Grundy's class and then think of 4 people to make the pendant for and why even one of them could yourself.

So Mr. Grundy showed us some work from a ex-student that went to tamaki collage for 5 weeks 4 years ago so Mr. Grundy showed his work for an example.

He wrote that he would make for his mum, aunty, cousin and himself so we had same things and find 4 easy symbols to make with the metal.

For now I just have me and my mom but I am still thinking of 2 more people that I can make it for then after that Mr. Grundy showed us a how to video that he made on how to make the piece of metal your design for the pendant.

Then after that we packed up and then walked to the bus and went back to school.

 I felt great after that because I learnt something new which the word pendent and the meaning of it.

Kiwisport Reflection (Last Session & Reflection Of This Term)

IALT:reflect on the last session of kiwisport

Hey guys so we had kiwisport and it was our last session for the term so the first thing we did was sit on the floor and Pat explain what we were going to do today.

So Pat told us to get in buddies I was with Jose and we had to sit down facing each other with a cone in the middle and we all had to put our hand on our hands and when Pat blows the whistle we try to grab it first and who ever gets the cone first they win or you win.

We then had to sit down with our backs facing each other and when she blows it again we would have to turn around fast and get it first too.

We also had to go stand at the back off the wall and when she blows it we have to crawl to the cone fast as and try to get it first and win.

So after that Pat told us that the people that were standing on my line were going to do boxing and the other side will be the person with the noodle holding it up so we can do the boxing moves.

So we did 4 boxing combos so the first one we did jab, cross, rock & cross, the second one was jab, cross, move, cross the third one was jab, cross, roll, cross and the fourth and last one was jab, cross, left hook, right hook, left uppercut and right uppercut.

So after that we switched and I was holding the noodle and Jose was boxing and we did the same thing and then we put all our staff away and we had to do a plank in a circle after that we took a photo since it was our last session and then we went back to class.

I felt great after because I really enjoy doing kiwisport this term and I was also so glad that it was boxing.

I found it hard doing the combos because it was hard to tell my left or right so you can tell that I am really good with my left or right but I tried my best and did some combos right.

I enjoyed playing the cone game because it was fun trying to the cone first and crawling to the cone it was a funny game to play.
